Here’s the thing about cookware: it’s not good for the environment. It’s also not good for you. Between how it’s produced to the toxins that can leach into your food and packaging, there are many things companies are doing wrong. Our Cookware Over 95% of cookware on the market is made of toxic chemicals that can leach into your food and air. Our ceramic coating 100% non-toxic. We’re on a mission to create better-for-you cookware, and are proud to have done just that. Our products are free of PTFE (such as Teflon®), PFAs, lead, cadmium, nickel and other toxic metals. By opting for ceramic, we are able to provide the same non-stick experience you’re used to from traditional non-stick pans, except completely safe. Our Production When produced, traditional non-stick cookware is known to release harmful toxins into the environment. These toxins are coined as “Forever Chemicals,” as they never biodegrade. By using a mineral-based ceramic coating for our products, we not only produce 100% non-toxic cooking surfaces, but are able to release up to 60% less CO2 into the environment. Our Packaging After all the harm cookware has done to the environment over the years, we knew it was important for us to do better with how we deliver Caraway to you. We chose recycled cardboard with zero plastic bags, low impact print dyes, and 100% biodegradable cork trivets. As for the welcome booklet that arrives with your order? Yep, that’s made with recycled paper too. The bottom line is the cookware industry has done a lot of damage to the environment, and we’re working hard to make things right. We will continue to keep you informed on our sustainability measures, and look forward to providing the same thoughtful touches as we continue to bring more Caraway into your home.
