The Grill Press is designed to stay comfortable during shorter cooking sessions and indirect heat (like pressing a panini). However, the Grill Press is not heat-proof! The handle will heat up when placed directly on a hot pan, flat-top grill, or left over a heat source for an extended period. For safest handling, use an oven mitt or pot holder, no matter the cooking method.
Yes, the Grill Press is safe to use on open-flame grills. If you are using a color-coated version, direct exposure to flames may cause discoloration over time, though this will not impact performance. Because the press can get extremely hot over an open flame, always handle it with an oven mitt or pot holder.
Yes! The Grill Press is dishwasher safe. However, we recommend hand washing the color-coated versions, as the dishwasher may cause the finish to fade more quickly. For the polished stainless steel version, stainless steel cleaners or Bar Keeper’s Friend can also be used for an extra clean—just note that over time they may slightly dull the shine.
